PROGRAM OVERVIEW FOR STUDENTS/ALUMNI

The Massachusetts Educational Recruiting Consortium provides an exciting opportunity to meet representatives from public and private schools/school systems from across the country. This day-long event brings together a nation-wide array of public and private school systems and candidates who are licensed or licensed eligible in a wide range of fields. CANDIDATES are students and alumni of the member colleges and universities, typically those engaged in teacher preparation programs in a wide range of licensure fields.

ELIGIBILITY

The MERC Recruitment event is limited to undergraduate, graduate, post-baccalaureate, and alumni from member colleges and universities. Unfortunately, we are unable to make exceptions for non-affiliated candidates. Please note: Ineligible candidates will be turned away at the door. Being a Massachusetts resident does not make you eligible, nor does an invitation from a school system.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

  1. Candidates interested in attending the recruiting conference must contact the Career Center of your member college or university prior to the conference to obtain a registration packet. Most
colleges and universities also offer very helpful orientation sessions to prepare you for the event. Check with your Career Center for a schedule.

  2. Candidates complete their registration on-site at the Curry Student Center, Northeastern University, utilizing the registration form and name tag found in your registration packet. A resume must also be provided.

  3. Two forms of identification and the $10.00 registration fee must be available at the door.

REGISTRATION FEE

The non-refundable candidate fee is $10.00, payable on-site at the fair. Cash or money orders are accepted. Credit or debit cards cannot be processed.

ONLINE FEATURES

You are encouraged to log into our system to view school systems registered for the fair and to research anticipated vacancies. Please keep in mind these can change over time. Some school systems are better than others at keeping these up-to-date. It is adviseable to research school systems prior to the fair to brief yourself for potential interviews.

Please note: Signing in to the MERC website does not register you for the fair - all registration is completed on-site.
